The University System of Maryland at Hagerstown (USMH) partnered with Washington County Public Schools (WCPS) to hold a high school student art show reception on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at USMH’s Hospitality Center.
Both public and private high schools in the county were invited to participate in which nearly 120 pieces were submitted. Student pieces were judged in the following categories: 3-D (ceramic, sculptures, etc.), drawing, painting, digital photography, and digital media.
Participating judges, Kandyce Douglas, Doris Hoopengardner, and Don Viar, whom are all retired WCPS art teachers, awarded ribbons for first, second, and third places for each category, as well as best in show. All awarded artwork within each category as well as the best in show piece will be on display at USMH main campus building located at 32 W. Washington Street through February 10, 2023.
