USMH opens pathways to educational opportunities by bringing programs from highly respected universities within the Maryland system to Washington County. These premier programs prepare students for careers in our region’s high-demand fields.

If you interested in partnering with USMH to enhance the region’s workforce and develop the leaders of tomorrow, please see the opportunities below:

Scholarships

The lack of financial resources is perhaps the biggest challenge that students face—even in-state tuition is out of reach for many local residents. Each year, USMH provides scholarships for students. In helping these deserving individuals, the funds are also helping our region. The more skilled our workforce becomes, the more we will attract higher paying and higher skill-level jobs. Since more than 70 percent of students attending college in Washington County qualify for financial aid, scholarship funds are essential to create a more educated population.

If you would like to learn more or contribute to the USMH Scholarship Fund, please contact Erin Harman at eharman@hagerstown.usmd.edu.

Internships

Employers partner with USMH to provide real-world experience for students through internships. If you are interested in recruiting qualified USMH students, please contact Pamela Francis at pfrancis@hagerstown.usmd.edu.

Student Engagement

Getting involved with educational events helps recognize students’ accomplishments and supports the development of skills necessary for students to excel in today’s rapidly changing business environment. Several opportunities are available throughout the year for businesses to connect with students, such as the Ready, Set, Go series and the Recycling program. To learn more, please contact Erin Harman at eharman@hagerstown.usmd.edu.
